Module codes

A typical Moodle module web has a code in the following format: 123ABC_0910AAA where 123ABC is the module code and 0910AAA is the cohort code.

Overnight download

Each night there is a download of student data from Universe to Moodle. Students are added or removed from the Moodle modules according to their status in Universe. If tutors add students to Moodle modules they will be removed by the overnight download if they are not registered for those modules in Universe.

Note. The overnight download adds the student to a particular cohort of the Moodle module. If the cohort is incorrect in Universe the student will be added to the corresponding incorrect Moodle module. It is not uncommon for students to be added to Moodle modules that have no tutor assigned to them. In this case the student will have a Moodle module with the correct module code but with an incorrect cohort code on their list of modules.

Finding modules without tutors
