Keeping in Touch

Published by John Tutchings

There are several ways in which to keep in touch with colleagues using your Smart phone, Skype or by web conference.  If your into it there are other social networking sites that allow some form of communication between people so you can still pick up some gossip ;)

The choice method for most people will be by using the Smart phone, it is what most of us are use to, dial the four digit extension number and you reach them.  If something needs a more detail talk than can be handled on a phone you may just nip down the corridor and have a chat.  You can still do that by using either Skype which will handle video calls or if you need to show someone a document or drawing then you can pop into a web conference.

You may find your self aboard and want to call someone, if you have access to a cyber cafe or WiFi hot spot you could use Skype for free.

The next couple of pages give a pros and cons of the 3 main ways to keep in touch.
