With the smart phones you can look up a staff phone number from whereever you are.
From the Contacts, select the Menu options and then Company Directory, from here you can search for the person to find their phone number and you can also add them to your personal contacts.
Your smartphone should recognise the four digit extension number, that is you only need to dial the 4 digit extension number from anywhere in the UK.

There is a Web Conferencing Service available to you. An example is given in the side menu bar. If you wanted to have a web conference of your own you can register for a blog in CUBA and then you can place your own web conference on you blog. Simply directing people to your blog will allow them to access the web conference.
Access to the web conference can be configured to allow own members of cuba can access, it is open to everyone or it is password protected. For help on using the web conference contact cuonline.elu@coventry.ac.uk who will gladly give you demo.

There is web based access to email via https://webmail.coventry.ac.uk/
Using the web based email you can manage email, contacts, appointments and out of office messages.

You can access several applications from the Remote Desktop.
To set up the remote desktop on your machine go to Start, Programs, Accessories, Remote Desktop Connection. On some computers the Remote Desktop Connection may be under Accessories/Communication. When asked for the Computer enter itsts.coventry.ac.uk, your username will be your University one e.g. bsx999 or aa9999, on some versions of Windows you may also need enter a domain which will be coventry.
There are several options that can be set when setting up the remote desktop, including sharing you local disk drives. This will allow you to drag and drop from your local machine over to your area on the ITS network.
