The LIW Knowledge Exchange

Published by John Tutchings

LIW explores the benefits, opportunities and issues surrounding the implementation of Location Independent Working in universities. LIW consists of working at an alternative place rather than in the office. This website presents the learnings from the JISC funded Instututional Exemplar project conducted at Coventry University between 2007 and 2009 and provides a for forum debating the issues on a wider basis. Participants have commented on how the LIW scheme has provided them with increased flexibility, job satisfaction and improved work-life balance.  Visit the podcast section to hear the thoughts of current participants.

This presentation on the LIW scheme at Coventry University by Denise Skinner provides a useful introduction.

A brief (text) description of the LIW scheme can be viewed or downloaded here.
