Gurnam is a Teaching Development Fellow at the Centre for the Study of Higher Education (CSHE) at Coventry University. He is also Principal Lecturer in Social Work and Co-Director of the Applied Research Group in Social Exclusion in Social Care (SISC) based in the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences. He has a PhD in Applied Social Studies from the University of Warwick and a Masters in Race Relations and Community Studies from the University of Bradford. Gurnam Singh has been working at Coventry University since 1993 as a social work academic, educational developer and action researcher. Prior to this he worked as a professional social worker. His research interests span the themes of identity, critical pedagogy, social inclusion and social justice.
