Even tinier…
type is.gd in your browser’s address and you will go to a site that shortens the addresses. It’s even shorter than tinyurl.com and it’s also available as an add-on to Firefox 3: is.gd Creator. The add-on copies the link to your clipboard, ready for pasting anywhere.
Put a hyphen after the shortened link and you will go to an intermediate page indicating the destination link.
Try this example: http://is.gd/4JJU-
(The example destination’s in Curve, taking you to a preview first)
Why… shortening links makes it easier for people to copy web addresses during presentations or type them if they are quoted in print.
